Vivian M. Proffer, 92, of Crump passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, where she had been a resident since March 2004.

Prior to moving to the Lutheran Home, she lived five years with her daughter in St. Charles, Mo.

She was born Feb. 7, 1912, at Crump, daughter of Marion F. and Lillie Mae Ackman Craft. She and Lloyd Proffer were married Feb. 20, 1930. He died Dec. 29, 1981.

Vivian farmed with her husband near Crump. She was a member of Bethlehem General Baptist Church in Crump all her life. She was an adult Sunday school teacher, member of Ladies Missionary Group, and member and past worthy matron of Whitewater Eastern Star.

Loving survivors include a daughter, Delores Brown and husband Nelson of St. Charles; two granddaughters, Margaret Harrelson and husband the Rev. Gary of Wellsville, Mo., Carolyn Fink and husband Richard of Creve Coeur, Mo.; four great-grandchildren, Angela Crud and husband Alexis of Nashville, Tenn., Michael and Timothy Harrelson of Wellsville, Amanda Fink of Columbia, Mo.; and a great-great-grandson, Benjamin Crud.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with an Eastern Star service at 7.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Joe Allen and Gary Harrelson officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Bethlehem General Baptist Church.
