SIKESTON, Mo. -- Vivian Potashnick, 93, of Sikeston died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born Dec. 16, 1907, in Effingham County, Ill., daughter of Everett A. and Vada Woody Dye. She attended the Cape Normal School, which is now Southeast Missouri State University.
She and Eugene N. Potashnick were married June 6, 1926. He died Nov. 15, 1982.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women's Circle, the Scott County Blood Bank and the Women's Civic Club. She was an avid bridge player.
Survivors include two sons, Fielding Potashnick and Morton Potashnick, both of Sikeston; a daughter, Sarah Ponder of Charleston, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and three grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, Dempster Chapel, with Dr. Jim Davis officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
