MOWEAQUA, Ill. -- Vivian L. Gaskill, 92, of Moweaqua, formerly of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, in Macon, Illinois. Vivian was born June 9, 1927, in Cameron, Warren County, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Verna Lewis Moore. MOWEAQUA, Ill. -- Vivian L. Gaskill, 92, of Moweaqua, formerly of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, in Macon, Illinois.

Vivian was born June 9, 1927, in Cameron, Warren County, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Verna Lewis Moore. She attended Phelps School in Warren County and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1945.

Vivian married Clinton E. Gaskill in Berwick, Illinois, on May 24, 1947, and he passed away Sept. 2, 2012.

Vivian worked several years for Sears, Roebuck. Most of her life, however, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook, seamstress and did beautiful needlework. In later years, she enjoyed having coffee with friends, reading and playing bingo with her senior friends at the Moweaqua Library.

She was a member of Heritage United Presbyterian Church in Monmouth, longtime member of the Monmouth American Legion Auxiliary Post 136 and Pi Beta Phi Arrow Mothers.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Charlie) Williams of Macon; her son, Rodney (Kari) Gaskill of Millersville; two grandsons, Ashton (Dani) Gaskill of Jackson and Clinton Gaskill of Millersville; great-granddaughter, Gwen Gaskill of Jackson; two stepgrandchildren, Valerie Cook of Decatur, Illinois, and Robert Sargent of Mount Zion, Illinois; two brothers, Kenneth (Edie) Moore of Monmouth and Raymond (Dottie) Moore of Bonita Springs, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Betty Gaskill and Rosa Kuhkney, both of Monmouth; and several special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter; sister, Harriet Huston; son-in-law, Philip Sargent; and stepgranddaughter, Cynthia Sargent Maloney.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at McGuire and Davies Funeral Home and Crematory in Monmouth.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Warren County Memorial Park in Monmouth.

Memorials may be given to Rainbow Rider in Monmouth or the Moweaqua Public Library.
