PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Vivian C. Ernst, 90, of Perryville died Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at Independence Court.
She was born in Perry County on Oct. 29, 1919, daughter of Daniel A. and Theresa K. Pourney Gorman. She and John W. Ernst were married Oct. 24, 1940. He preceded her in death Oct. 1, 1990.
Mrs. Ernst had worked at Florsheim Shoe Co. and in the office at Miraculous Medal. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, Knights of Columbus Council 1263 Auxiliary, VFW Post 4282 Auxiliary and American Legion Post 133 Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter, John Douglas (Donna) Ernst of Palmetto, Fla., Jerry P. (Jannet) Ernst, Beth A. (Ed) Guth; two sisters, Doris M. Eddleman and Helen Annette L'Hote, all of Perryville; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and a brother.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday , and Monday from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Young and Sons Funeral Home. The Catholic wake will be at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to St. Vincent de Paul School or Church or Hospice Care.
