Virginia Winschel

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Virginia M. Winschel, 84, of Perryville died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at Independent Care Center of Perry County.

She was born Dec. 4, 1926, in Perry County, daughter of Frank and Minnie Zoellner Pingel. She and Hubert A. Winschel were married Jan. 20, 1951.

Mrs. Winschel was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Ladies Organization in Apple Creek, Mo.

Survivors include her husband; two sons and four daughters, Ricky and Mary Ann Winschel, Barb and Bob Hagan, Mark and Margery Winschel, Theresa Winschel, Mary and Paul Roth, Jennifer Winschel; a brother, Allen Pingel, all of Perryville; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Cleora Blair and Jeanette Meyer; a brother, James Pingel; and a granddaughter, Angela Winschel.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, with parish wake at 7, and from 6:30 to 11:15 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Funeral Mass will be at noon Saturday at St. Joseph Church, with the Rev. Tony Dattilo officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
