Virginia A. Martin Tierney, 88, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born March 1, 1927, in St. Louis, daughter of Edwin W. and Florence A. Knoll. She and Elmo C. Martin were married Nov. 23, 1946. He passed away in December 1964. She and Marvin D. Tierney were married March 5, 1966. He passed away in January 1991...

Virginia A. Martin Tierney, 88, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 1, 1927, in St. Louis, daughter of Edwin W. and Florence A. Knoll. She and Elmo C. Martin were married Nov. 23, 1946. He passed away in December 1964. She and Marvin D. Tierney were married March 5, 1966. He passed away in January 1991.

Virginia was a member of Jackson Church of Christ. She worked at Martin's Jewelry and Farmers Insurance Agency, both in Jackson. She was a volunteer at Saint Francis Medical Center and the former Cerebral Palsy Center in Cape Girardeau.

Loving survivors include a son, Gary (Stephanie) Martin of Columbia, South Carolina; a daughter, Susan (Jim) Seabaugh of Jackson; two stepdaughters, Phyllis Herbst of Nebraska and Brenda Hatfield of Paducah, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Brittany Martin Hartman of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Jamie (Shane) Seabaugh Gibson of Gordonville and Matthew Seabaugh of Rolla, Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Delaney Gibson, Harley Hartman and Kinley Gibson; seven stepgrandchildren, David Herbst, Shannon Spicer, Shelley Spurling, Stacy Hatfield, Courtney Martin, Leigh Culver and Amy Hinkle; and numerous great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both husbands and a sister, Mildred Knebel.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Brian Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Memorials may be given to Jackson Church of Christ Mission Fund or Saint Francis Medical Center Foundation.
