PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Virginia Seckel, 86, of Perryville died Monday, July 25, 2005, at her home.
She was born March 18, 1919, in Okolona, Ark., daughter of Ruben R. and Bertie Lee Harris Shackelford. She and Raymond R. Seckel were married July 9, 1960.
Seckel was a former member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Overland, Mo., and past president of the North Central Region of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Navy, Marines and Coast Guard.
Survivors include four sons, Louie Trevillion of Pocahontas, Ark., William First of Perryville, David First of St. Charles, Mo., Don Streive of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a daughter, Raegie Finch of Lexington, Ky.; two sisters, Carolyn Rickettes of Gurdon, Ark., Frances Tarpley of Little Rock, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 3 to 8 p.m. today, and Thursday from 6:30 a.m. until time of service.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Finch officiating. Burial will be at 12:45 p.m. Thursday in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
