Virginia Roseline Richardson, 87, of Scott City died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, at Auburn Creek Assisted Living in Cape Girardeau. She was born July 9, 1920, in Fornfelt, Mo., daughter of George Frederick and Sophia Louise Eggimann Hanschen. She and Billy Bernard Richardson were married March 28, 1942. He preceded her in death on April 18, 1981...

Virginia Roseline Richardson, 87, of Scott City died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, at Auburn Creek Assisted Living in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 9, 1920, in Fornfelt, Mo., daughter of George Frederick and Sophia Louise Eggimann Hanschen. She and Billy Bernard Richardson were married March 28, 1942. He preceded her in death on April 18, 1981.

Richardson was the valedictorian of the 1938 graduating class of Illmo-Fornfelt High School and the Sagamore queen of SEMO State Teachers College in 1941. She was a teacher at I-SC Elementary School and served as the city clerk of Scott City. She was active in the Senior Citizens of Scott City and a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a sister, Mildred M. Burch of Glencarbon, Ill.; a niece, Maria Hanschen; two nephews, Joe and Steve Hanschen; and three great-nephews Matthew Thompson, Ryan and Logan Hanschen.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Hanschen.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City and after 9 a.m. Monday at Eisleben Lutheran Church.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Bob Azinger officiating. Burial will follow in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
