CAIRO, Ill. -- Virginia Marchildon, 89, of Cairo died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Ga.
She was born March 31, 1914, in Nashville, Tenn., daughter of Walter and Cora Crocker Wood. She married L.C. "Polly" Marchildon, who died in 1996.
Marchildon was a former salesclerk at Neil's Drug Store. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Jackson of Waterloo, S.C., Carol Harvell of Paducah, Ky.; a son, Rev. Donald Marchildon of Athens, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. The rosary will be recited at 8.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Church, with the Rev. Jerome Fortenberry officiating. Burial will be in Thebes Cemetery at Thebes, Ill.
