JACKSON -- Virginia M. Proffer, 71, Jackson Route 4, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 1993, at Cape LaCroix Manor in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 27, 1922, in Shelbyville, Ark., daughter of Ulysses Palmer and Frances Myrtle Pinkston Montgomery. She and Kermit Proffer were married March 25, 1942.
Proffer was a retired saleslady from Libson's Dress Shop in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Patricia Webb of Bartlett, Tenn.; two brothers, Horace Montgomery of Newport, Ark., J.P. Montgomery of Chaffee; a sister, Movidene Cutler of Chaffee, and a grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. David A. Stewart will officiate, with burial in Forest Hills Memorial Garden near Morley.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
