VIRGINIA JACOBS

Virginia L. Jacobs, 90, of Lohman, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Capital Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City, Mo.

She was born Feb. 19, 1910, at St. Martins, Mo., the daughter of Henry C. and Leona Gratz Meller. She married Frank Joseph Jacobs on April 22, 1930, at Jefferson City. He died Feb. 17, 1977.

She attended the St. Martins School in St. Martins. She was a member of the St. Martins Catholic Church, the Ladies Sodality of the church, the Ladies Quilting Club and the Fifty Plus Club at St. Martins. She was a homemaker and lived on a farm.

She is survived by three sons, John Jacobs, Robert Jacobs and Henry Jacobs, all of Lohman; six daughters, Marilyn Keller, Betty Harrison and Lucy Bennett, all of Lohman, Shirley Forck of Benton, Mo., Ethel Bernskoetter of Henley, Mo., and Vernie Eichholz of Westphalia, Mo.; a sister, Irene Welch of Lohman; three half sisters, Kathryn Baundendistle and Bernadine Thomas, both of St. Louis, and Martha Stark of Centertown, Mo.; 32 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and six great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter and a grandson.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Buescher Memorial Home in Jefferson City.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. Martins Catholic Church, with the Rev. Edwin A. Schmidt officiating.

Burial will be at the St. Martins Parish Cemetery.
