VIRGINIA FLOWERS

DELTA -- Virginia Flowers, 73, of Delta, died Monday, June 3, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 24, 1922, at Whitewater, daughter of Charlie and Ora Mullinar Rhodes. She and Owen Flowers were married Dec. 22, 1938, at Benton.

She was employed 40 years at Florsheim Shoe Co. in Chaffee. She was a member of Arbor General Baptist Church and its Women's Missionary Society.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mary Macke of Leopold; two brothers, Leonard Rhodes of Arnold, Willard Rhodes of St. Louis; four sisters, Lucille Kidd of Delta, Marie Withers and Laverne Langston of St. Louis, Louella Nothdurft of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, great-granddaughter, two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Naamon Eaker officiating. Burial will be in Stroderville Cemetery near Whitewater.
