Virginia Laura Creech, 93, of Scott City died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born April 13, 1909, at Canton, Mo., daughter of Charles and Margaret Sloan. She and Omer Everett Creech Sr. were married March 9, 1926, at Canton. He died Feb. 17, 1998...

Virginia Laura Creech, 93, of Scott City died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born April 13, 1909, at Canton, Mo., daughter of Charles and Margaret Sloan. She and Omer Everett Creech Sr. were married March 9, 1926, at Canton. He died Feb. 17, 1998.

Creech had been a kindergarten teacher in Georgetown, Ill. She was a member of First Christian Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include a son, Omer Creech Jr. of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Jacqueline Kelley of Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
