VIRGINIA COX

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Virginia Cox, 74, of Sikeston died on Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 5, 1926, at Ridgely, Tenn., daughter of Buford and Fannie Mae Davis Lane. She attended the Christian Family Church in Miner, Mo.

She and Harold M. Cox were married Sept. 12, 1967, at Tulsa, Okla. He died Nov. 21, 1994.

Survivors include her mother, Fannie Mae Simmons of Sikeston; a son, John Burton, address unknown; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Sharp of Sikeston and Virginia Edwards of Coweta, Okla.; a sister, Maglyn Nelson of Sikeston; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel. The Rev. Gaylon Butler will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
