Mrs. Virginia L. Casper, 93, of Jackson died at 1 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's.
She was born Nov. 23, 1922, in Anna, Illinois, the daughter of Rolla and Edith Anderson Treece. She married Robert Casper on Nov. 25, 1947. He preceded her in death June 28, 1984.
Virginia was a member of the Anna First Baptist Church. She and her husband owned and operated Casper's Cafe, which was adjacent to the old Anna Hotel and the Quick Chef. Virginia also was an employee of the Anna Mental Health Center.
Although she lost many of her memories, her loving spirit remained with her. She will be greatly missed, and we will always carry her memory in our hearts.
Virginia is survived by her two children, Karen Gleeson of Cape Girardeau and Kent Casper of St. Peters, Missouri; two grandchildren, Chance (Tina) Moe of The Dalles, Oregon, and Paul Gleeson of Cape Girardeau; two great-grandchildren, Katlin and Nicolas; one sister, Glenda (Bill) Davis of Anna; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Treece of Anna; a daughter-in-law, Jonny Moe of The Dalles; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Casper; two sons, Kenneth Moe and Keith Casper; four sisters, Bertha, Eileen, Elizabeth and Robin; as well as two brothers, Kenneth and Jack.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
The funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral Home, with pastor Mark Martin officiating. Interment will be in Anna City Cemetery.
