SIKESTON, Mo. -- Virginia Mae Bass, 73, of Sikeston, died Saturday, July 15, 2000, at her home.
She was born May 22, 1927, at Anniston, Mo., daughter of Allie Jones and Etta May Holland Jones.
She and Harold Dale Corbin were married Sept. 6, 1945, at Charleston, Mo. He died Nov. 29, 1991. She and Jim Bass were married Feb. 11, 1970, at Sikeston. He died April 20, 1972.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Gospel Trinity Church.
Survivors include a son, Dale Lee Corbin of Lake Belton, Texas; six daughters, Jane Denning of Lilbourn, Mo., June O'Connor of Kewanee, Mo., Wilma Denning, Carol Sue Corbin and Donna Kevitt, all of Sikeston, and Tonya Finnel of St. Charles, Mo.; two sisters, Margaret Walker of Sikeston and Eva Watkins of Panama City, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Elizabeth Banks officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston.
