BELL CITY -- Virgil J. Smith, 67, of Bell City died Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 17, 1930, in St. Louis, son of Thomas Adam and Lucretia Noles Smith. He first married Betty Jo Haws June 7, 1952. He later married Tina Caldwell Feb. 14, 1995.
Smith was a custodian and bus driver at Bell City Schools.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Pamela Everest of Williamsville, Tammy Green of Bell City; three brothers, Frank Smith of Mattese, Richard Smith of St. Louis, Donald Smith of San Clemente, Calif.; three sisters, Alma Morrie of Maryland Heights, Addie Caracci of St. Peters, Edna Weeks of Bell City; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-stepgrandchild.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, two brothers, and three sisters.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Light officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City.
