Virgil Robinson
Virgil "Bo" Robinson, 76, of Jackson passed away Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 27, 1932, in Scott City, Kan., son of the late Claude and Eva Wickland Robinson. Virgil married Evelina Gross on Oct. 9, 1955, in Yankton, S.D.
Virgil was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1953. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau. In 1977, Virgil and his sons, Dale and Doug, established Delta Y Electric near Sedgewickville, Mo. Virgil continued to serve as CEO of the business. He had been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church since 1977.
Loving survivors include his wife, Evelina, of 53 years; a son, Dale (Sherri) Robinson of Jackson; two daughters, Dawn (Gene) Manning of O'Fallon, Mo., and Debbie (Dennis) Ogle of Glen Carbon, Ill.; two sisters, Vada "Perky" (the late Harry) Messenger of Republic, Mo., and Virginia "Sally" (the late Bob) Robbins of Lamar, Colo.; 10 grandchildren, Nic, Jenna and Lacie Robinson of Jackson, Michael and Jennifer Manning of O'Fallon, Todd (Brook) Ogle of Glen Carbon, Amie (Toby) Toberman of Shiloh, Ill., Madalyn, Myles and Madison Robinson of Fenton, Mo.; and two great-grandchildren, Avery and Audrey Ogle of Glen Carbon.
He was preceded in death by a son, Doug Robinson; two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16 at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery with graveside military honors.
The family suggests memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Southeast Hospice.
