TAMMS, Ill. -- Virgil Malone, 77, of Tamms died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997, at the VA Medical Center in Marion. He was born Feb. 29, 1920, in Union County, son of Virgil and Mattie Farrel Malone. He and Jacqueline Clifford were married July 20, 1962. She died Jan. 5, 1992...

TAMMS, Ill. -- Virgil Malone, 77, of Tamms died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997, at the VA Medical Center in Marion.

He was born Feb. 29, 1920, in Union County, son of Virgil and Mattie Farrel Malone. He and Jacqueline Clifford were married July 20, 1962. She died Jan. 5, 1992.

Malone served with the U. S. Air Force in the South Pacific during World War II.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carl Dillow officiating. Burial will be in McCrite Cemetery.
