BLOOMFIELD -- William Virgil Lewis, 69, of Bloomfield died Thursday, June 17, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 16, 1929, in Ste. Genevieve, son of Homer and Irene Hammers Lewis. He and Versie M. Blocker were married May 5, 1952.
Lewis was retired from Stites Concrete in Dexter. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Bell City.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Randy Lewis of Bloomfield; three daughters, Evelyn Rosirio of Sikeston, Betty Angel and Leta Bostic of Bloomfield, Marilyn Lee of Douglas, Ga.; four brothers, Frank Lewis of Sikeston, Emmet Lewis of Harrisville, Ky., Ed Lewis of Texas, and Melvin Lewis of Dexter.
Also surviving are six sisters, Lola Henson and Carolyn Patterson of Bloomfield, Anabelle Harp, Blanche Lewis and Wilma Hailey of Sikeston, Mary Duncan of Aurora, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Curtis True will officiate. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery at Advance.
