NEW MADRID, Mo. -- Virgil Lee Jaco, 80, of New Madrid died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri.
He was born April 12, 1938, in Sedgewickville, Missouri, to Harley and Hazel Crites Jaco. He and Charlotte Sue Jaco were married Oct. 7, 1960, at New Madrid.
He had worked 24 years at Noranda Aluminum in Marston, Missouri.
He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, working on cars and lawnmowers, NASCAR and wrestling.
He was a member of First Church of God in Lilbourn, Missouri.
Survivors include his two daughters, Angela (Dwight) Walker of New Madrid and Crystal D. (Scott) Jarvis of Benton, Missouri; one son, Buford Lee (Teresa) Jaco of Dexter, Missouri; one sister, Shelby Looney of Delta; four brothers, Ed (Helen) Jaco of Benton, Jerry (Ann) Jaco of Scott City, Harley Ray Jaco of Cape Girardeau and Charles (Melody) Jaco of Cape Girardeau; 10 grandchildren, Andrea White, Tonya Kennedy, Kaleigh Stafford, Amber Friese, Brandon Friese, Katelynn Brisco, Austin Graham, Tryston Jarvis, Whitney Gaines and Bryce Jarvis; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including Jerry Wayne Jaco of Conway, South Carolina, and Danny Joe Jaco of Meredith, Texas.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dodi Townsend officiating. Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society.
