DELTA -- Virgil D. Fowler, 83, of Delta, died Wednesday, March 9, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 21, 1910, at Zalma, son of Logan and Ira Killian Fowler. He and Thelma Watson were married Aug. 27, 1929, in Advance.
Fowler was a retired heavy equipment operator. He was a member and deacon of Arbor General Baptist Church, and member of Union Local 513 in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, A.J. Fowler of Scott City, Ronald Fowler of Delta; a granddaughter he reared, Donna Williams of Whitewater; 13 other grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a grandson and great-grandson.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Bradley Fowler, a grandson, and Bob Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Dongola Cemetery near Advance.
