JONESBORO, Ill. -- Virgil Bell, 80, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1993, at his home. He was born March 1, 1913, in Carterville, son of Hosea and Lula Oller Bell. JONESBORO, Ill. -- Virgil Bell, 80, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1993, at his home.

He was born March 1, 1913, in Carterville, son of Hosea and Lula Oller Bell.

Bell was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, and a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two sisters, Virginia Smoot of Sterling, and Ruth McCulley of Joliet.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Chapel in Anna. The Rev. Garnett Mitchell will officiate, with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Friday.
