OLD APPLETON -- Funeral service for Virgil Arlington Lang of Old Appleton will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson. The Rev. Ron Watts will officiate, assisted by Bob Eisenhauer. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
Lang, 81 years old, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 1991, at Chateau Girardeau Health Care Center.
He was born Dec. 24, 1909, at Oak Ridge, son of Oscar Hays and Roxie Kurre Lang. He and the former Mamie Irene Miller were married Jan. 24, 1937. She died Dec. 10, 1984.
Lang had owned and operated Lang Motor Co. here since 1940. He was a lifetime member of Zion United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Harold Lang of Ankeny, Iowa, Donald and Rick Lang of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Doris Brown of Centralia, Wash., Mary McDaniel of Jonesburg, Carolyn Schwartz of Florissant; two brothers, William Lang of Oak Ridge, Byron Lang of Jackson; three sisters, Leona Tuschoff of Wentzville, Margaret Leimer of Burlington, Iowa, Mary Clingingsmith of Oak Ridge; 16 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
