BLOOMFIELD -- Virgie M. Richmond, 85, of Bloomfield died Thursday, April 3, 1997, in Bloomfield.

She was born Feb. 2, 1912, at Bloomfield, daughter of Robert Matthew and Effie May Walker Edwards. She and Wayne Richmond were married March 16, 1931. He died Nov. 5, 1987.

Richmond was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church; supporter of Friends of the Stars and Stripes, and Friends of the Library; and former member of Bloomfield Junior Federated Club, Bloomfield Civic Club, and Bloomfield Alumni Association.

Survivors include a son, Michael Richmond of Ballwin; a daughter, Toni Baird of Bloomfield; a sister, Irene Walker of Bloomfield; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister and brother.

Friends may call at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Hank Foster officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
