Virgie B. Parrish, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Nov. 7, 1913, in McClure, Ill., daughter of George and Ella M. Staubb Goodman. She and Ira I. Parrish were married Feb. 11, 1933, in McClure. He died Dec. 7, 1992.
Parrish had been a certified nurse assistant and medical technician at Maple Crest Manor, retiring in 1991. She was formerly of McClure.
Survivors include a son, Clifford Parrish of Marion, Ky.; two daughters, Doris Hedrick of Thebes, Ill., Lavon Putz of Jackson; a brother, Floyd Goodman of Oak Ridge; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joe McCullough officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery at McClure.
