CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Violet Williams, daughter of the late Sherman Vanbibber and Nora Parker Vanbibber, was born March 5, 1921, in Bald Knob, Ark., and departed this life at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on April 26, 2009, at the age of 88 years.
Mrs. Williams was a member of the Chaffee General Baptist Church in Chaffee, former co-owner of Dexter Fix-IT Shop and currently a resident of Chaffee.
On May 17, 1942, she was united in marriage to Ulyss Williams in Bloomfield, Mo. Mr. Williams preceded her in death Sept. 21, 1980.
Survivors include a son, Harry Williams of Chaffee, Mo; a daughter-in-law, Linda K. Williams of Cape Girardeau; a grandson, Codey Williams of Cape Girardeau; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Louis G. Williams and Rodger Lynn Williams; a daughter, Genoa McLard; three brothers, the Rev. Willard Vanbibber, Jewell Vanbibber and James Earl Vanbibber; three sisters, Mary Evalena Jones, Cleola Ridge and Mable Kurtin; and one grandson, Gary McLard.
Friends may call from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo.
Funeral services will be conducted a 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating. Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
