DEXTER, Mo. -- Violet Treadway, 92, of Wappapello, Mo., died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare North Campus in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She was born March 24, 1910, in Evansville, Ind., daughter of William Aaron and Charlotte Korb Long. She and Homer Treadway were married April 11, 1926, in Dexter. He died Sept. 6, 1990...

DEXTER, Mo. -- Violet Treadway, 92, of Wappapello, Mo., died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare North Campus in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

She was born March 24, 1910, in Evansville, Ind., daughter of William Aaron and Charlotte Korb Long. She and Homer Treadway were married April 11, 1926, in Dexter. He died Sept. 6, 1990.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter.

Survivors include three sons, Bill Treadway of Chaffee, Mo., Gene Treadway of Puxico, Mo., Wayne Treadway of Carlsbad, N.M.; four daughters, Mae Pope of Essex, Mo., Fay Fortune of Newburgh, Ind., Jo Stinson and Norma Nash, both of Wappapello; 27 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Visitation was held Sunday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Wayne Dismuke officiating. Burial will follow in Armstead Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter.
