DELTA -- Funeral service for Violet Parks of Delta will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. Glen Golden will officiate, with burial in Park Cemetery at Malden.
Friends may call at the chapel after 4 p.m. today.
Parks, 88, died Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at Heartland Care and Rehab Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 14, 1908, in New Madrid County, daughter of Jacob and Cora Ann Hollingsworth Pearman. She and Jesse Leo Parks were married Feb. 16, 1925. He died March 1, 1981.
Parks was a member of First Baptist Church and former member of Delta Homemakers Club.
Survivors include two sons, Marion Parks of Poplar Bluff, Jimmy Parks of Delta; three daughters, Loise Learue of Scott City, Coradell Mitchell of Chaffee, Frances White of Owensboro, Ky.; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, a grandson, brother and sister.
