VIOLET NORRIS

CAIRO, Ill. -- Violet Norris, 56, of Cairo died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Ky.

She was born Jan. 26, 1942, in Rector, Ark., the daughter of Henry and Addie Bettis Norris.

She was a member of the Cairo United Pentecostal Church.

She is survived by four sisters, Louis Norris of Salem, Ill., Frances M. Musby of LaCenter, Ky., Sharon L. Merritt of Cape Girardeau and Martha Sue Whitaker of Carbondale, Ill.; 10 brothers, Henry Norris of Washington, D.C., James Norris of Kansas City, Richard Norris of Indianapolis, Ind., Ernie Norris and Robert Whitaker, both of Anna, Ill., Paul and Lloyd Norris and William, Charles and Clayton Whitaker, all of Cairo, Ill., and Donnie Whitaker of Bardwell, Ky.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Glynn Copeland officiating. Burial will follow in Beechwood Cemetery in Mounds, Ill.
