ANNA, Ill. -- Funeral for Violet Mae "Ginger" Hess of Anna will be held at 2 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna. The Rev. Donald Poole will officiate. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home until service time.
Hess, 75, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
She was born Sept. 10, 1924, in LaCrosse, Wis., daughter of Helmar and Inga Skaar. She first married John H. Cauble, then later married Keith Smith. She and Ray Hess were married Jan. 9, 1986. He died June 11, 1992.
Hess was a licensed practical nurse, and a member of First Lutheran Church in Dongola.
Survivors include three daughters, Cheri Carlton of Cape Girardeau, Sandra Dillow of Cobden, Ginger Cole of Elkton, Ky.; two sons, John Cauble of Dongola and Scott Cauble of Anna.
Also surviving is a stepson, Sammy Hess of Anna; a stepdaughter, Diana Wilson of Dongola; a sister, Eileen; two brothers, Norman and Merlyn Skaar; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a granddaughter.
