BENTON -- Violet B. Matthis, 86, of Arnold, died Monday, June 28, 1993, at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born April 26, 1907, daughter of John and Nora Hughes Wilson. She and Edward E. Matthis were married June 28, 1931, in Clarksville, Ark.

Matthis was a member of Unity Baptist Church here.

Survivors include two sons, Donald Matthis of El Reno, Okla., Robert Matthis of St. Peters; a daughter, Carol Jenkins of Arnold; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton. The Rev. Dale Huff will officiate, with burial in Forest Hills Cemetery at Morley.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Wednesday.
