MCCLURE, Ill. - Funeral services for Mrs. Viola I. Pearce, 82, of McClure, Ill., will be held today, at 2 p.m., at Ford and Sons South Sprigg Chapel. The Rev. Raymond Oxford will officiate. Burial will be in the Lindsey Cemetery near McClure.
Friends may call at the funeral home until time of services today.
Pearce died Thursday, March 28, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 4, 1908 in Columbus, Ky. to the late A.D. and Annie Belle Weatherford Johnson.
She married Clyde Pearce, Sr. on Sept. 12, 1928, at McClure. He preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 1975.
Survivors include one son, Clyde "Bud" Pearce of East Cape Girardeau; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Waterman of East Cape Girardeau; a nephew, Jerry Johnson of McClure; one sister, Mrs. Marie Smith of Bloomfield, Mo.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Pearce was a life-long resident of McClure, and a member of the McClure Baptist Church.
