BLOOMFIELD -- Viola Gertrude Cowgur, 80, of Bloomfield died Sunday, Oct. 15, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 15, 1915, near Bloomfield, daughter of Arthur and Maggie Eaton Hardy. She and William Earl Cowgur were married April 25, 1931. He preceded her in death Oct. 30, 1975.
Cowgur was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield. She lived most of her life in the Bloomfield area.
Survivors include three sons, Bill Cowgur of Scopus, Gene Cowgur of St. Louis and Jack Cowgur of Seneca; two daughters, Doris Rickman and Mary Walpole, both of Bloomfield; 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and three brothers.
Arrangements are incomplete at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
