Viola Webb Cook, 74, 105 Green Acres, died Monday, Sept. 8, 1997, at her home.
She was born Aug. 11, 1923, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of John C. and Laura Cole. She and William Floyd "Bill" Webb were married June 16, 1946. He died July 23, 1960. She later married Milford Cook Dec. 27, 1968. He died May 13, 1994.
Cook was manager of the catalog department at Montgomery Ward Co. 24 years.
She was a former member of Third Street United Methodist Church where she was a choir member, youth director, church treasurer, and member of United Methodist Women. She recently transferred membership to Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church.
Cook served in the U.S. Army during World War II. She was a member of VFW Post 3838 and Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include a son, John Webb of Pensacola, Fla.; a daughter, Karen McClendon of Cape Girardeau; two stepsons, Edward Cook of Lilburn, Ga., Doyle Cook of Balgownie, Australia; a stepdaughter, Roberta Seabaugh of Oak Ridge; a brother, Henry Cole of Jackson; a sister, Louise Cole of Cape Girardeau; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. David Stewart and Boytt Willis officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
