EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Viola Leanes Bryan of East Prairie will be held at 1 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Billy Heckert will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery.

Bryan, 76, died Sunday, July 11, 1993, at her home.

She was born May 12, 1917, in Mulberry, Ark., daughter of Madison and Sally Howe. She married William J. Bryan Aug. 1, 1936. He died May 16, 1973.

Survivors include two sons, Leon Bryan of East Prairie, David Bryan of Greenfield, Tenn.; two daughters, Ruth Morgan of East Prairie, May Knight of Paducah, Ky.; four sisters, Ellie Thomas of Ozark, Ark., Nellie Stewart of Ratcliff, Ark., Gelene Williams of Santa Rosa, Calif., Kathy Belt of Dallas, Texas; 12 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters.
