Vincent L. "Bud" Parres, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center. He was born Jan. 31, 1925, in Perry County, son of Simon and Julia Moore Parres. Survivors include two stepsons, Ron and Dale Simpson of Chicago; two sisters, Zita Strattman of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., Rita (Gerald) Huck of Decatur, Ill.; four stepgrandchildren; seven nephews; two nieces; many great-nieces and great-nephews...

Vincent L. "Bud" Parres, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 31, 1925, in Perry County, son of Simon and Julia Moore Parres.

Survivors include two stepsons, Ron and Dale Simpson of Chicago; two sisters, Zita Strattman of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., Rita (Gerald) Huck of Decatur, Ill.; four stepgrandchildren; seven nephews; two nieces; many great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Fredrick, Joseph and Thomas Bernard Parres.

Parres had been parts manager at Mack Truck in Chicago. He was of the Catholic belief and a member of VFW in Cape Girardeau.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 6:30 a.m. to service time Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville, Mo.

The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, with military honors provided by VFW and Delta Team.

Memorials are preferred to American Cancer Society.
