Vincent L. LaJoie of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 1, 1955, in Cape Girardeau, the son of John L. and Lillian McGee LaJoie. Vincent married Cathie Y. Seabaugh on June 14, 1979.

Vincent was of the Catholic faith. He was a graduate of Jackson Senior High School, class of 1974. He had worked at the former Tri-Con Industries in Cape Girardeau and most recently had worked for Cape Wilbert Vault Co. Vincent served in the Missouri National Guard, working with explosives.

Loving survivors include his wife of 36 years, Cathie; two daughters, Yvette LaJoie and her fiance, Dave Crites, of St. Louis and Toccarra Lawrence and her husband, David, of House Springs, Missouri; two grandchildren, Gavin LaJoie-Smith and Skylar Presley; three sisters, Vedda Midura, Vera Spicer and Virginia LaJoie-Allen; mother-in-law, Helen C. Seabaugh of Jackson; and two stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life will be from 4 to 10 p.m. Feb. 27 at VFW Post 3838, 1049 N. Kingshighway, Cape Girardeau.

Memorial donations in memory of Vincent may be made to the family in person on the night of the celebration to help to defray medical expenses.

McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
