Vincent F. Licare, 87, of Jackson, Missouri, died Friday, June 20, 2014, at his home.
He was born May 18, 1927, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Rossario and Mary Agnes Salvato Licare.
Mr. Licare was of the Catholic faith. He married Liz Shearer.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy.
Vince was owner of Midwest Diesel Service, which he founded in 1968, and was an avid fisherman.
He had a passion for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where he shared generously his good fortune.
Survivors include his wife, Liz Licare, of Jackson; a son, Vincent K. Licare, of St. Louis; two stepsons, Robert J. (Nancy) Teater of Cape Girardeau and Brent E. Teater of Columbia, Missouri; a stepdaughter, Julie Teater of Biloxi, Mississippi; a brother, Richard (Darlene) Licare of St. Louis; a sister, Joy (Mick) Bader of St. Louis; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Licare of Carlyle, Illinois; six grandchildren, Brandon Licare, Jessica (Kyle) Hux, Jenna Licare, Brittany Licare, Travis Licare and Kristen Licare; and a great-grandchild, Keaton Licare.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Mark, Scott and Brian Licare; four brothers, Sam, Ross, John and Mike Licare; and two sisters, Nina Ballentine and Marie Buselaki.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
A graveside funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Resurrection Cemetery, 6901 Mackenzie Road, St. Louis, Missouri, 63123.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
