VILLA K. PETTY

CHARLESTON -- Funeral service for Villa Kathryn Petty of Charleston will be held at 1 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. The Rev. Gerald Collier will officiate, with burial in Anniston Cemetery.

Petty, 77, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1993, at East Prairie Nursing Center.

She was born Nov. 19, 1914, in Hickman, Ky., daughter of Will and Ada Ezell Garrett. She and Forrest Calvin Petty were married Dec. 24, 1932. He died March 22, 1988.

Petty was a member of Pulltight Church of God near East Prairie.

Survivors include a daughter, Gloria Powell of Bailey, Colo.; six grandchildren, including Carl Parker whom she raised, and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and three sisters.
