Victor G. Schuessler, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Jan. 26, 1912, at Frohna, Mo., son of Benjamin Martin and Susanna Lueders Schuessler. He and Josephine Ida Frank were married Sept. 9, 1945, at Hanover Lutheran Church.

Mr. Schuessler was a self-employed carpenter in the Cape Girardeau area, farmed in his early years, was a custodian at Hanover Lutheran Church from 1980 to 1989, and mowed the church grass many years.

He was a member and elder at Hanover Church, served on various boards, and was a member of the Men's Club and former member of the Dramatic Club. He was a member of TPA.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, H. Marty and Sharon Faye Schuessler of Jackson, Charles "Chuck" and Mary Schuessler of Cape Girardeau; a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth A. and Larry Burroughs of Frohna; a sister, Ruth A. Meinz of Altenburg, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Julie Peralta, Chad Schuessler, Pam Scott, Angela Kelly, Erica Schmidt, Christina Thomas, Laura Schuessler, Benjaman Schuessler; and three great-grandchildren, Hannah Scott, Emma Scott and Tristan Schmidt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon, and at Hanover Lutheran Church Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to service time.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Rev. Daniel Hackney officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
