Victor C. "Bud" Evans, 75, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, July 4, 1999, at the Missouri Veterans Home.
He was born April 24, 1924, in San Augustine, Texas, son of Ben and Irexey Evans. He was never married.
Evans had served in the Army in World War II in France from 1943 until 1945. He was an assembly line worker at the Massey Ferguson plant in Akron, Ohio. He also worked as a porter for the New York Central Railroad in Indianapolis, Ind. He was a resident of Detroit, Mich., for most of his adult life.
Survivors are a brother, Willie Evans of Beaumont, Texas; a sister, Bernice Maxey of San Augustine; two nieces, Bonnie Eulinberg of Oak Ridge, Mo., and Barbara Thomas of Southfield, Mich.
He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Thursday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home on Mount Auburn.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Howard McGhee will officiate. Burial will be at the Jefferson Barracks Veterans Cemetery in St. Louis.
