FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Verbia "Vicky" Rudluff Hill, 89, of Fort Myers and East Cape Girardeau, Illinois, transcended her earthly body Thursday, April 11, 2019, at her home in Florida.
Vicky was born Oct. 13, 1929, in Thebes, Illinois, to Leo and Hazel Laird Rudluff.
She and Sherman E. Hill were married Dec. 2, 1947, in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death in June 2010.
Vicky was a beautician and worked in the retail cosmetics industry. She owned several businesses, the last being a children's clothing store on Sanibel Island, Florida, where she resided 20 years.
Vicky is survived by a daughter, Trina Hill-Stokes of Florida; four grandchildren, Josh (Kellie) Treece of Marion, Illinois, Tia Bell of South Carolina and Alexsis Stokes and Nathan (Loren) Hill, both of Florida; daughter-in-law, Mary Hill of Florida; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Tarr of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Hubert and Rusby Rudluff of McClure, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her only son, Kim S. Hill; two sisters; and three brothers.
A garden-side celebratory dedication will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
Vicky was a dog lover. In lieu of flowers please send memorials to the Humane Society or any dog rescue in her name.
