Vester Shell, 95, of Marble Hill, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1992 at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Sept. 10, 1897, at Lodge, Mo., the son of Frederick Shell and Mary Huffman Shell. He married Arminta May Stilts March 17, 1908. She died June 5, 1980.
He was a retired a farmer, and formerly a member of the Old Trace Creek Baptist Church for more than 50 years. He later was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marble Hill.
Survivors include one daughter, Vesta Lucy Ballard of Fenton, Mo.; two brothers, William Shell of St. Louis and Vernon Shell of Glen Allen, Mo.; a granddaughter, a grandson and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by one son, George Howard Shell, who died Sept. 28, 1977.
Friends may call at Baker Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Baker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Fred Ritter and the Rev. Dianna Cook officiating.
Burial will be in Baker Cemetery near Marble Hill.
