Vertis V. Mouser, 94, of Jackson died Thursday, April 17, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 12, 1908, at Marquand, Mo., daughter of Robert L. and Virginia "Jennie" Cloninger Sitzes. She and Glenn A. Mouser were married Dec. 9, 1929. He died July 22, 1962.
Mouser was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson. She worked in the church nursery many years and also provided child care.
Survivors include a son, Willard Mouser of Imperial, Mo.; two daughters, Verna Drum of Jackson, Sharon Cureton of Marble Hill, Mo.; a sister, Lela Mouser of Glenallen, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and seven sisters.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home. Dr. Timothy Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
