MILLERSVILLE -- Vernona Clark of Millersville died at the Cape LaCroix Manor on Saturday, Aug. 14, 1993, at the age of 97.
She was born April 23, 1896 at Eva, Tenn., daughter of Frank M. and Lavanna Pafford Wright.
She married Robert "Bob" Clark on July 13, 1913. He died April 21, 1939.
Surviving are two sons, George Clark of Kansas City and Henry Clark of Millersville; two daughters, Ruth Roberts of Millersville and Marie Goodson of Carbondale, Ill.; one sister, Eunie Barfield of Fort Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Four brothers preceded her in death.
She had lived with her daughter, Ruth Roberts, in Millersville since 1929.
She was a telephone operator at Millersville from 1932 to 1944, and from 1945 to 1968 she worked at the former International Shoe Co. in Jackson.
She was a member of the Millersville United Methodist Church since 1929.
She had been residing at the Cape LaCroix Manor for the past four years.
Funeral service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson, with the Rev. Fred Rister officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
