SIKESTON -- Vernon B. Buck, 74, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, March 1, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 8, 1919, in Commerce, son of George Frederick and Maggie Mae Baldridge Buck. He and Bernice A. Bollinger were married Feb. 17, 1944, in Memphis, Tenn.

Buck was an operation superintendent 42 years with Scott-New Madrid-Mississippi County Rural Electric Co-Op Office here. He was a member of VFW Post 3174 and Eagles Aerie 3319 here, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, and 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 3151 in Sikeston. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sharon Russell of East Prairie, Amy Dunning of Cape Girardeau, Kris Buck of Sikeston, and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a grandson.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today. The KC rosary will be at 7:30.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Church, with Msgr. William Stanton and the Rev. Robert Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
