Vernon Biehle, 79, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Biehle, Mo., died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardea.

He was born Feb. 27, 1934, in Biehle, to Herbert Herman and Irma Katherine Ernst Biehle.

Vernon was an Army veteran and also served in the National Guard.

He was a retired farmer. He was a life member of St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle, and former member of Eagles Aerie in Cape Girardeau and Elks Lodge in Perryville, Mo.

Survivors include two sisters, Shirley Ann (the late Jack) Cracraft of Cape Girardeau and Doris (the late John) Sutterer of Perryville; two brothers, Herbert (Evelyn) Biehle of Wildwood, Mo., and Kenneth (Carol) Biehle of Rocklin, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Allan; and two brothers-in-law.

The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Miller Family Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tony Dattilo officiating. Burial will be private.

The family requests memorials to the Missouri Veterans Home Activity Fund or St. Maurus Catholic Church.
