VERNA I. HIRSCHOWITZ

SIKESTON - Verna Irene Hirschowitz, 74, of Sikeston, died Friday, April 29, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born March 7, 1920, in Stoddard County, to John and Bertie Sims Harris.

In March 1941, she married Abram S. Hirschowitz, in Galveston, Tex. He preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 1992.

Survivors include two daughters, Jane Menz of Sikeston and Gilda Whitaker of Rochester Hills, Mich. Two brothers, Roy Harris of Essex and Floyd Harris of Dexter, also survive.

She was preceded in death by one son, one brother, and three sisters.

Friends may call after 5 p.m., today, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral services will be held Monday, at 2 p.m., at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, with the Rev. Curtis True officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens at Morley.
