CAIRO, Ill. -- Verna Elizabeth Brunson, 87, of Wood River, formerly of Cairo, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1993, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton. She was born Sept. 5, 1906, in Carlisle County, Ky., daughter of William and Della Day Willis. She married Milton B. Brunson, who died Jan. 19, 1990...

CAIRO, Ill. -- Verna Elizabeth Brunson, 87, of Wood River, formerly of Cairo, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1993, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton.

She was born Sept. 5, 1906, in Carlisle County, Ky., daughter of William and Della Day Willis. She married Milton B. Brunson, who died Jan. 19, 1990.

Brunson was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include a cousin, Christine Jamison of Wood River.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Barkett Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Chris Thomas will officiate, with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery at Wickliffe, Ky.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Wednesday.
